Nice to meet you!

Drumroll, please... 🥁

After 12 months (maybe more) of scheming / plotting / canoodling / procrastinating - WE HAVE FINALLY STARTED THIS PODCAST!

Happy Day 1 💖🎙️All Thoughts No Conclusions 💖🎙️

All Thoughts No Conclusions is your dose of existentialism, contemporary (dare we say *pop*) culture, and everything in between. Each podcast episode we’ll explore different topics from our corner of the zeitgeist, and share lots of unfiltered thoughts, and the occasional conclusion.

This episode, we discuss THOUGHTS on Dry Jan & Age Gap Relationships.

Dry January

Sofia is doing her first ever Dry Jan – along with approx. 60% of NYC. We discuss –

🌟Why is Dry Jan only popularized in the US vs other parts of the world?

🌟Does it actually…do anything? Or is it a rebranded fad diet?

🌟Is Sofia a forever changed woman with a new lifestyle?! (spoiler, prob no)

References / related / random:
  • We reference this article, What Happens to My Body During Dry January? (NY Times, Melinda Wenner Moyer).

  • We ask the mind-boggling question – what do sober people do after 9PM in NYC? TBH — we’re still trying to figure it out.

Our recent text convo, no context required
It’s not all “pro”… discourse !!

Age Gappers

Starting through the lens of a medium piece allegedly about Jake Gyllenhaal (will every episode incidentally discuss Taylor Swift…TBD), we discuss –

🌟Personal experiences navigating the power dynamics within age gap relationships

🌟How have perceptions of age gap relationships changed in the past 50 years?

🌟Do gender politics play a role in age gap relationships? Is there any change in the power dynamic, when the woman is the elder party in a hetero relationship?

References / related / random:

We referenced a few articles here – The Movie Star and Me (Medium, Domenica Feraud), The Age-Gappers (The Cut, Lila Shapiro)

As well as discussed May December, available on Netflix.

While not discussed on the pod, Sofia also just finished Big Swiss (Jen Beagin), which explores an age gap relationship (between 28 y/o and 45 y/o women) in a queer relationship. Based in Hudson, NY – the book at large is glorious in its bizarreness, a bit of a slow start turned fast-paced read 40% through, with great sentences & descriptions. Highly rec!

💖🎙️See you next time! 💖🎙️

P.S. This is a lo-fi pod. We hope we’ll get better at editing over time. Be nice!
